Technical Features

From advanced tracking and device control to social sharing and consent handling — these technical features ensure compliance, boost performance, and give you the insights needed to optimise both user experience and business strategy.

Built-in technical tools that keep your platform smooth, safe, and future-ready

Device limit

It is possible to set a limit of how many devices a set of user credentials should give access to. With a device limit of five, this means that a reader can download publications from up to five different devices across app platforms (iOS and Android) at a time. If no publications have been downloaded for 48 hours on a device, it will open up for a new device to take its place within the five allowed devices. This is done so that the reader can switch devices, e.g. when buying a new tablet or phone.

Device limit is compatible with Device App.

Social Sharing

Social Sharing is a simple way of sharing that should work in all cases, with a customer branded landing page and alternative options for customers with difficult validation.

It is a link to our light landing page, through either mail or social sharing, which then displays the shared article in the desired manner on a branded page.

Social sharing is compatible with Device App and Web App.

Universal Linking

Universal linking is a way for Visiolink customers to link to their content across devices. The link is smart and will react differently depending on the device the link is accessed from. If it’s on a PC it will open link in the browser and if it’s on an iPhone it will open the installed app.

You can link to almost anything in your solution, examples are: open the app, open specific articles, open specific publications on a specific page, open archive search on a given search word, and more.

Universal linking is compatible with Device App and Web App.

Consent Manager

A consent manager provides customers with a simple, customizable way to handle GDPR compliance by presenting a clear pop-up where users can choose how their data is used. It allows configuration of headlines, explanatory text, and consent categories.

Users can easily give, decline, or adjust consent through branded buttons, toggle switches, and information boxes, with the option to revisit and change settings later.

Consent is stored locally on the device, can be re-triggered if policies change, and ensures transparency around data usage, helping customers maintain trust, comply with regulations, and respect user privacy.

Consent manager is compatible with Device App and Web App.

Tracking

We have defined our tracking to ensure that our standard tracking solution is both efficient and aligned with our vision. While there are fewer standard events, it does not mean that the amount of events fired and data captured is reduced. For most of our standard events, we will support the same, if not more, tracking possibilities.

Our tracking has been simplified to be more reusable. The parameters will therefore have less explicit naming, which makes them reusable across multiple events.

Amongst the possibilities within tracking are user parameters, publication and page events, article, media, search, interstitial, hotspot and module events.

Tracking is compatible with Device App and Web App.

Integrations

We integrate with most 3rd party options relevant for publishers. Whether it is CMS, tracking, validation, ads, consent or other partners, we are capable of integrating with Device App and Web App.
